Hi, I’m Mil.
A little about my work, what I’m building, and the experiences shaping who I am.
I’m Jamil Camacho, known as Mil, a bilingual professional based in South Florida with a background in hospitality, casino operations, team supervision, and education. My work has always centered on people: understanding what they need, navigating challenges, and helping create experiences that feel thoughtful and personal.
My professional foundation
My professional foundation began in hospitality and gaming, with experience at Seminole Classic Casino, Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, and Ocean Casino Resort. Working across service, slot operations, and supervisory roles gave me a practical understanding of how individual interactions connect to the success of an entire operation. I learned to adapt quickly, communicate clearly, resolve concerns, and support both guests and colleagues in environments where attention to detail matters.
People, leadership & learning
As a Dual Slot Supervisor, I developed my leadership skills through the daily responsibility of supporting employees, addressing guest concerns, and helping maintain consistent service on the floor. That experience shaped how I approach leadership today: stay approachable, take ownership, and follow through. Being fluent in English and Spanish also allows me to connect with people across different backgrounds and communicate with greater understanding.
My experience extends into education through substitute teaching with Broward County Public Schools. Working with students has strengthened my patience, flexibility, and ability to explain information in ways that meet people where they are. I hold an associate degree and am pursuing a Bachelor of Public Safety Administration at Florida Atlantic University, with a concentration in Disaster Management and an anticipated graduation in Summer 2027.
What I’m building
Alongside my professional and academic work, I’m exploring entrepreneurship and digital creativity. Through building my own online store and personal website, I’ve been teaching myself about e-commerce, website design, branding, and the work involved in turning an idea into something people can experience. I enjoy the process of learning, testing, refining, and seeing a project take shape.
I’m especially interested in opportunities that bring together operations, people support, technology, and creative problem solving. Whether I’m supporting a team, developing a business idea, or learning a new skill, I want my work to be useful, intentional, and built with care.
